Job Description

Network Sunday delivers business development solutions with a focus on social selling and sales enablement. Our international customers are a range of mid market and enterprise Technology and Professional Services organisations that operate in complex sales environments.

There is an exciting opportunity to join our Cape Town team. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering qualified sales opportunities on behalf of our clients against a monthly KPI or stipulated SLA.

The chosen candidate will from part of our growing Business Development team comprising of entrepreneurial and talented professionals, and will report in to the Business Unit Head and Client Services Director.

Key Accountabilities:

Client Management

  • Responsible for overseeing the onboarding of new clients
  • Gaining a sufficient understanding of the client’s business objectives and their proposition
  • Needs to have a focus on retaining clients as a result of excellent client service management whilst making sure that client engagements meet gross profit targets
  • Preparing and leading fortnightly client review calls
  • Monitoring and reporting on data that has been utilised to date in order to meet the stipulated KPI/SLA
  • Responsible for CRM software management on the client’s behalf

Service Delivery

  • Generate and nurture sales accepted leads on behalf of Network Sunday clients using a combination of professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Writing personalised messages and following up with telephone-based lead generation
  • Uncover market intelligence within a client’s target market and execute email marketing campaigns to drive leads and referrals
  • Write sales appointment briefs for client’s elected representatives to help them prepare for set appointments with prospective clients

Governance of Client Accounts

  • Taking ownership of KPI reports and adhering to reporting structures and tools put in place
  • Attendance of weekly performance one on ones with your Business Unit Head
  • Escalating and clearly communicating all issues that surface to the appropriate channel to de-risk the account
  • Keeping all documentation relating to the client account up to date

Business Improvement & Efficiency

  • Continually looking to improve processes and efficiencies where possible
  • Communicating inefficiencies and possible solutions with regards to internal processes
  • Prioritising time with the Ops Manager to keep them up to date on any changes or challenges with the client toolkit

Core Knowledge, Skills & Desired Attributes:

  • In-depth understanding of the digital market place, marketing principles related to Social Media and relevant skills on all Social Media platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills to be able to express the proposition through custom written messages to prospects
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and confident in a client facing role
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp clients’ business models and unique selling propositions
  • Insight and ability to cleverly and succinctly articulate client’s propositions and establish prospects needs
  • Entrepreneurial flair and solutions driven
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude
  • Target driven (there are set KPI achievements that always need to be met)
  • Ability to handle pressure and demanding clients
  • A team player yet able to work independently
